I seemed to have fallen off the blog, but after my cancer surgery, I needed time to recuperate. The doctor’s told me 4 months.
I was a good patient. I listened and didn’t push as I wanted to start Spring off healthy and ready to work. In April, I got my clean bill of health and the go ahead for work. It feels like being reborn. Florence is the home to the Renaissance and even today provides so much inspiration daily! It’s so nice to be able to go back downtown and be inspired. Recharging my soul!
Work has changed so much during covid, with touring gone, I turned to new platforms to share my cooking lessons and also writing.
I learned to film and edit videos for my Patreon online cooking videos which I produce weekly. Right now, patreon is simply recipes, but I may add on a travel segment to it when I start doing my Videos for travel segments. It’s 5 euro a month for access to ALL the videos I have produced. I find it overwhelming, but a great resource. If you would like to simply access one or two of the videos they are available on my website under LA SCUOLA- Video Library.
I had also started a Video series of interviews, At the Kitchen Table, I may start those again.
I moved my newsletter over to Substack and have a free version as well as the paid members version which is evolving into a travel guide with tips on where to go and what to eat, like my Taste Chianti app was. Since it also died during Covid! The company cancelled all their apps.
That was years of work down the drain so I am giving it another life also with my culinary travel consulting which I am also collaborating on the Thatch app, creating custom tours or you can simply purchase existing lists I have put together. It’s great to have access to all this info while traveling. Just be sure to have a sim card you can use here.
This season started off with a bang! Return clients came for a two week stay, returning to an estate near my home as their base and I created their itinerary and we traveled during the day and let them relax at their home in the evening. Of course there was that truffle dinner at the new place near my home!
Looking forward to new adventures.
I have been working in the backround setting up tours with private clients so September, October and November are already booked!
I am thinking of offering a Fall trip to Puglia for the Olive Oil Harvest. Drop me a message if you are interested in being put on the mailing list!
My Sicily tour in November with Susana Trilling of Seasons of My Heart cooking school is already full.
Mostly now I work with private clients on Curating their trips. I can organize and help create your dream trips and also am available as your Culinary Host.
Now is the time to Dream and Plan!
Everyone should try being Italian at least once a year!!! Join me in a full immersion.
Looking forward to sharing all that I have created during this crazy time and moving forward.
I think that a new book is next, combining my love of documenting daily life around me and sharing my inside access to my life here with others.

I have a fall Tuscan tour for a private group which ends on the 19th so am looking at the last week in October- into November. Need to fix the dates. Normally I do a week, Starting in Bari and then staying in the countryside with a day trip to Matera included.
