2016 has started off with a bang. Doors closing but new doors opening.
I closed my teaching space to concentrate on my weeklong programs and offer “Divine Day Trips” Custom tours of the market, day trips into Chianti or lessons at your villa.
I spent the past winter recreating my app, which Sutro had closed down. I am not a computer geek, so it was stressful, but now it is done. Here is TASTE CHIANTI- Download for FREE
The app is now FREE! I created both the iOS and the Android versions, please download and enjoy. I have included a lot of my favorite places, over 200 and am going to be adding even more and updating in March.
Although I closed my teaching space, I can still do a class in your rental villa or organize a day trip in Chianti or a market tour and lunch in Florence or create special events.
On the app I have included artists, artisans as well as many places to stay. It would be impossible to list them all, or list everything that each of them offers.
Most of the places now in the countryside offer almost everything you can dream of, cooking classes, wine tasting, bike rental and more. The app has a link to the websites and you can look around them and mark as a favorite on the app. It is also possible to dine at many of the working farms that are agriturismi, farm stays.
I have opened a TASTE CHIANTI facebook page and an instagram account to feed your dreams. On the Facebook page, I will post events which pop up, so it’s a good idea to follow that too, often even locals don’t know about an event until the week before. I would hate for you to miss a fun festival!
Chianti tends to shut down off season, so always check before driving out if there is somewhere you want to really see. Even me! Last Saturday I drove out to Chianti and had planned on just grabbing a burger at the Antica Macelleria Cecchini, a grey Saturday in the middle of winter. The place was packed and was an hour wait list. So we went across the street and down stairs into their cantina at SoloCiccia for the smaller tasting menu. It was a blast.
I will also be creating custom itineraries for sale, using the app plus more information I have on fun places to stop, trivia etc. Like having me in the car! Those will be available online.
Please share the app with your friends that are coming.
Leave a review on the itunes or google play pages– and let’s spread the love!

Judy, We just came back from a 14 day tour of the north and central Italy. By that I mean flying into Venice (renting a car at the airport) and staying in Agriturisomi in/or/ outside of Venice, Bologna, Florence, Chianti and Rome. What a balst we had. It was my 45th (?) trip to Italy was our friends asked me to show the country to them. I had enough sense to know that qualified guides could do a better job than me pointing and saying “that’s the David”. It would have been nice to know about you before we planned the trip. Maybe next time.
I did want to share something that we were exposed to while our guides took us through several vineyards in Montalcino. It was lunch at Boccon Di Vino. If you have not been there, you might want to try it. The restaurant is related to the La Fiorita vineyard. The food and wine pairings for lunch were outstanding.
