Simply Sicily

May 22, 2013 by Divina Cucina

I am so in love with Sicily- and the Sicilians. It is an island full of passion for life. I am constantly charged with energy. Volcanic soil? Sea Air?

Perhaps the fabulous food?

I have made some fabulous friends that are also passionate about food and share their “Secrets” with me, which I think share with you!

Sicily feeds my soul.

Food, wine, architecture, ruins, sea, sky, craziness, energy, beauty.

Each trip I take, I discover more and more, making new friends along the way and creating new dreams.

This Fall I will come back during the olive harvest, probably for two weeks of classes and touring.
Dates have not been finalized, but after October 12.

If you would like to be on the mailing list for the trips, please write to me

Oh, I’d love to visit Sicily someday! That picture with the ruins only makes me want to that much more.

Wow – such enticingly beautiful photos. I love hearing you so excited. Sicily must be truly glorious. My sister and her husband spent a good deal of time in Sicily and they loved it, positively raved about it in fact. It seems that all who journey there have a wonderful time. Judy, your new banner shot rocks. Nice shot.

Judy, your photos are wonderful for this article. I really admire your eye. I feel like I’m in the scene… and the simple compositions are so rewarding.

Stunning. My mom was born in Caltabellotta, but I haven’t been back to Sicily since I was 13 years old – since we have a home in Abruzzo, we usually stay on the mainland, which has been a lot easier with 3 little ones. However, I’ve been feeling a nagging pull towards Sicily for quite some time now. I feel as if something is waiting for me there. We already have too much on the schedule for this summer, but definitely next year.

Sicily was such a wonderful surprise for me…It was more beautiful and delicious than I ever imagined it would be. The gorgeous waters, the delicious food, landscapes that changed from sea to farm to olive groves… little towns, ancient cities…it has it all! The best thing about Sicily…the people. Warm, Welcoming, Fun…and always with a smile! I ADORE Sicily…and I adored seeing it with you Judy!

Originally from California; Tuscany has been my home since 1984. I found the city of Florence to hold all my passions, food, wine, art all in one place. When I am not in Tuscany, I am often found in Sicily, my other favorite place to be. Always searching for recipes to share and exploring for the guides I write to my favorite cities for food and wine.
