Flyers beware!
The Florence airport is closing for some work, and most flights will be out of Pisa now. You need to get there yourself.
Pisa Airport is about 1 1/2 hours from Florence, but you only need to check in 1 1/2 hours before your flight, not considered international as you are connecting to your international flight in another city.
The first train from Florence to pisa leaves at 6:30 a and gets you into Pisa at 8am.
I don’t know if they are going to create some special service!
The airport may be closed for 3 months. and noone knows if the airlines will come back to Florence!

Florence Airport is frightening, good thing they’re fixing it up! Pisa Airport may only be 1 1/2 hrs via train from Florence according to the ‘schedule’, but last time I did it, the trip took about 6 hours total…

Personally I am terrified!
I think going to Rome will be my choice!
At leas I can overnight and have a great meal.
I used to love flying Florence Paris, but the connecion time was so short.. flights were missed and luggage lost. Not worth the stress!

How about Bologna as an alternative?
Diva says
Thanks.. but most flights that connect for America go from Rome, Milano or Pisa!!!
for the shortest route..
I think the Scandanavian airlines use Bologna.. or Perhas I could do Bologna London.. but I think internation is a different airport all together.
